Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have extended distance learning for educational institutions across the country until Friday, June 6, as a precaution amid the ongoing regional situation in the Middle East.
The decision was jointly announced by the UAE Ministry of Education and the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The directive applies to all public and private schools as well as universities in the country.
Under the arrangement, online learning will continue for students, teachers and administrative staff. Officials said the move aims to prioritise the safety of the education community while ensuring that academic activities proceed without disruption.
Authorities confirmed that the situation in the region is being closely monitored and that additional measures may be introduced if necessary to safeguard students and staff.
Meanwhile, Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesperson for the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, said business continuity plans have been activated across key sectors to maintain essential operations during the current circumstances.
He urged educational institutions to effectively utilise remote learning systems to ensure that the academic process continues smoothly.
