Abu Dhabi: The UAE is preparing for the final phase of the current spell of unstable weather, with heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible hail expected between March 25 and 28, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.
The latest weather system began over western parts of the country before moving towards Al Dhafra and Abu Dhabi, and later spreading across northern, eastern, and inland regions including Al Ain.
The system has brought periods of heavy rainfall, lightning, and thunder, with occasional hail in some areas. Cloud cover is expected to gradually decrease, with the impact of the low-pressure system weakening over the coming days.
However, chances of light to moderate rainfall will continue in some areas, especially over islands and northern regions at intervals.
Since last weekend, multiple waves of rain have affected large parts of the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.
Weather conditions are expected to stabilise after March 28, with clearer skies and a drop in temperatures. Winds will shift direction and may become strong at times, causing blowing dust and reduced visibility in open areas.
Sea conditions are also expected to remain rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Authorities have urged residents to follow official weather updates and rely on the National Early Warning System for accurate information. Police and municipal teams continue efforts to clear waterlogged roads and restore normal traffic movement.
