Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority has introduced a new guide to support families navigating distance learning.
The “Parent Guide to Supporting Your Child During Distance Learning” offers practical advice to help parents manage home-based education while prioritising children’s wellbeing. It focuses on improving communication between families and schools and ensuring continuity in learning, while recognising that every household has different challenges.
The authority clarified that parents are not expected to take on the role of teachers. Schools remain responsible for lesson planning, instruction, progress monitoring, and student support.
The guide emphasises that steady progress is more important than perfection. It encourages parents to provide calm support, establish consistent routines, and maintain regular contact with schools.
It also outlines five key priorities designed to help caregivers support children in a simple and structured way, while reducing confusion and addressing concerns early.
