Despite global disruptions affecting shipping and cargo movement, Dubai has maintained a stable and uninterrupted supply of essential food items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, according to industry leaders.
The Fruit and Vegetable Traders Business Group under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce highlighted that the emirate’s strong infrastructure and proactive government measures have played a key role in ensuring food availability.
Efficient coordination between Jebel Ali Port and DP World has enabled alternative shipping routes and faster customs clearance, strengthening supply chains. Meanwhile, the Roads and Transport Authority has facilitated smooth logistics by ensuring the seamless movement of goods to distribution centres.
Traders also credited Dubai’s strategy of diversifying import sources and leveraging advanced cold storage and warehousing systems to preserve the quality of perishable goods. Strict government price monitoring has further boosted consumer confidence.
Industry leaders, including Fresh Fruits Company CEO Reda Al Mansouri, noted that Dubai continues to set a global example in maintaining food security even during times of international crisis.
