Dubai: Dubai\u2019s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that the emirate\u2019s main road network and key areas have been fully restored following the recent severe weather conditions.<\/p>
Hamad Ali Al Shehhi, Director of Roads at the RTA, said the authority began preparations well in advance, implementing proactive measures in coordination with strategic partners to minimise disruptions and maintain smooth traffic flow.<\/p>
Ahead of the weather event, advanced engineering solutions were introduced at more than 14 critical locations. These included increasing drainage capacity, installing high-capacity pumps connected to deep tunnel systems, expanding discharge points into Dubai Creek and other waterways, and creating retention ponds to manage excess rainwater.<\/p>
During the rainfall, operations were managed through a unified command centre in coordination with Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, and ambulance services, along with private sector partners.<\/p>
Dubai was divided into operational sectors to ensure efficient deployment of resources and rapid response to waterlogging. The control centre utilised over 10,000 cameras, along with data analysis and past experience, to monitor conditions and guide decision-making.<\/p>
More than 380 pumps, 500 water tankers, and 100 emergency vehicles were deployed, supported by around 1,300 personnel. Officials confirmed that no major road closures occurred, and only minor issues were reported, which were resolved quickly.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
