{"id":4803,"date":"2026-07-26T14:05:46","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T14:05:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/colorsnewslive.com\/en\/?p=4803"},"modified":"2026-07-26T14:05:47","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T14:05:47","slug":"kuwait-to-introduce-new-rules-for-childrens-digital-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/colorsnewslive.com\/en\/2026\/07\/26\/kuwait-to-introduce-new-rules-for-childrens-digital-safety\/","title":{"rendered":"Kuwait to Introduce New Rules for Children&#8217;s Digital Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kuwait City: Kuwait is preparing to introduce new regulations to strengthen children&#8217;s digital safety, with fresh guidelines and legislation aimed at regulating minors&#8217; use of electronic platforms expected to be announced soon.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Omar Al-Omar said protecting families and children requires a coordinated effort involving multiple government agencies rather than a single authority.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also said the government has adopted a policy of using the Sahel app as the unified platform for all government services instead of developing separate mobile applications for individual departments.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of efforts to enhance online child protection, Kuwait will work with leading global technology companies, including Microsoft and Google, to support digital safety initiatives.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Omar noted that while introducing legislation to regulate children&#8217;s online activities is relatively straightforward, enforcing the rules and taking action against foreign companies that violate them will be the biggest challenge.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that Kuwait is studying successful child online protection frameworks adopted by the UAE and several European countries as it develops its own legal framework.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed legislation is being prepared in coordination with the National Cyber Security Centre, the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) and the Ministry of Justice.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kuwait City: Kuwait is preparing to introduce new regulations to strengthen children&#8217;s digital safety, with fresh guidelines and legislation aimed at regulating minors&#8217; use of electronic platforms expected to be announced soon.
