{"id":5480,"date":"2026-09-15T06:39:01","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T06:39:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/colorsnewslive.com\/en\/?p=5480"},"modified":"2026-09-15T06:39:03","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T06:39:03","slug":"kuwait-steps-up-rain-preparations-as-drainage-systems-and-pumps-get-ready","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/colorsnewslive.com\/en\/2026\/09\/15\/kuwait-steps-up-rain-preparations-as-drainage-systems-and-pumps-get-ready\/","title":{"rendered":"Kuwait steps up rain preparations as drainage systems and pumps get ready"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kuwait\u2019s Public Works Ministry has stepped up preparations for the upcoming rainy season, with drainage cleaning, pumping station maintenance and emergency response measures underway to reduce the risk of waterlogging and flooding.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the preparations, rainwater drainage manholes in various areas are being cleaned, while maintenance and repair work is progressing at pumping stations located inside highway tunnels.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mobile pumps are also being prepared for deployment at highway tunnels, major traffic intersections and other locations where water accumulation could affect traffic during periods of heavy rainfall.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Technical teams are continuously monitoring the preparations and ensuring that field crews and equipment are ready to respond quickly to emergencies. The measures are aimed particularly at preventing waterlogging on major roads and locations vulnerable to traffic disruptions.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Audit Bureau has reportedly approved a second extension for a contract worth KD392,600 covering the maintenance of rainwater pumping systems.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry is also coordinating with Civil Defense and the Fire Force to ensure a coordinated response in the event of emergencies caused by heavy rainfall.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The preparations are intended to minimize flooding, waterlogging and traffic disruptions during the rainy season and ensure that drainage and pumping systems remain operational when needed.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kuwait\u2019s Public Works Ministry has stepped up preparations for the upcoming rainy season, with drainage cleaning, pumping station maintenance and emergency response measures underway to reduce the risk of waterlogging and flooding.
