The consecutive National Day holidays of the UAE and Oman created historic traffic at the Hatta border, with 145,265 people crossing between November 25 and December 2. Dubai's General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) successfully managed the unprecedented surge through their "Sanad Team Plan," which involved strategic officer deployment and inter-departmental coordination.
According to Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, head of GDRFA Dubai, pre-planned arrangements and officer professionalism ensured seamless passenger services despite the record-breaking numbers. Major General Salah Ahmed Al Qamsi emphasized that advance preparation prevented any compromise in service quality or processing times during the holiday rush. The event demonstrated Dubai's border management capabilities, with officials noting continued efforts to enhance system efficiency and upgrade infrastructure to handle future congestion scenarios effectively.
