Official data indicates that Kuwait’s total workforce stood at 3.21 million by the end of 2025, with Kuwaiti citizens accounting for 462,538 workers and expatriates comprising 2.749 million. The private sector employs the largest share—1.825 million workers, of which only 66,416 are Kuwaitis.
The government sector employs 525,522 workers, including 395,112 citizens and 130,410 expatriates. Additionally, the family sector—covering domestic workers and similar roles—has approximately 859,127 resident workers.
