Markets, cooperative societies and shopping malls across Kuwait are witnessing a surge in shoppers ahead of Ramadan. Residents are flocking to buy iftar essentials, Ramadan decorations and household items, leading to heavy crowds in several commercial areas.
Popular spots such as the “Dates Street” market in Shuwaikh Industrial Area, wholesale markets and fresh meat shops are seeing the highest footfall. Stores selling home décor items are also reporting increased demand.
Authorities from the Ministry of Commerce and other departments are monitoring supplies and prices to ensure availability and prevent overcharging. Special teams have been deployed to verify discounts and take action against violations. Traffic and security personnel have also been stationed near busy markets to manage congestion and maintain order.
