Kuwait has been ranked fifth among Arab countries for traffic congestion, according to the latest Traffic Index report released by an economy platform. The country recorded a congestion index score of 162.0 points.
Egypt topped the list with 225.9 points, followed by Jordan (190.0), Lebanon and the UAE (168.0), placing Kuwait fifth overall.
The report attributes rising congestion to the growing number of vehicles and heavy peak-hour traffic in urban areas. Authorities are said to be considering measures to improve transport infrastructure and reduce traffic pressure across the country.
