The Catholic Church in Kuwait marked the start of Ramadan and the Christian Lenten season with a gesture of interfaith solidarity, distributing iftar items to passers-by in Kuwait City. The initiative highlighted messages of compassion, coexistence and mutual respect among communities.
Clergy members led by church representatives distributed dates and water to fasting individuals outside the Holy Family Cathedral shortly before Maghrib prayers. The church said the programme was organised as part of Kuwait’s tradition of social harmony and shared humanitarian values.
Officials noted that the overlap of Ramadan and the Christian Lenten fast offers an opportunity for reflection, repentance and service to others. The initiative underscored Kuwait’s model of peaceful coexistence among different faiths and its strong culture of respect and community support.
