Doha: The Amiri Diwan has announced the official public sector holiday schedule in Qatar for the upcoming Eid al Fitr.
According to the announcement, government ministries and other public institutions will observe holidays from March 17 to March 23. Employees are expected to resume work on March 24 after the holiday period.
The holiday schedule for financial markets and related institutions will be announced separately based on directives from the governor of the Qatar Central Bank.
Meanwhile, the Qatar Ministry of Labour confirmed that private sector employees in the country will receive three days of paid leave for Eid.
Astronomical calculations from the Qatar Calendar House suggest that Eid Al Fitr is expected to fall around March 20 following the conclusion of Ramadan. However, the final confirmation will depend on the official sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon.
