The UAE ushered in 2026 by honoring the contributions of its workforce with nationwide celebrations attended by more than 300,000 workers at over 30 locations across the country. Organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) under the unifying slogan “With You and Through You, We Step into the New Year,” the events highlighted the essential role of laborers in the nation’s progress. Activities included competitions, prize draws for cars and travel tickets, traditional dances, stage shows, and large-scale gift distributions.
The initiative saw collaboration across a wide range of government bodies, including the Ministry of Interior, ICA, and police commands in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. Support also came from municipal authorities, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, GDRFA Dubai, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, National Ambulance, and the Dubai Event Security Committee. Private companies such as Sobha Constructions, Granada Europe Construction, and DULSCO Group organized parallel events, reinforcing a shared commitment to worker welfare and inclusion.
MoHRE emphasized that these celebrations reflect a sustainable approach to worker recognition, aimed at fostering happiness, social stability, and a sense of community belonging. The ministry noted that such efforts contribute to the overall well-being and quality of life of the workforce, aligning with the UAE’s broader social development goals.
The events were backed by ten major sponsors, with DAMAC and Aldar Properties serving as Diamond Sponsors. This public-private partnership model underscores the UAE’s integrated strategy to value its labor force, ensuring that the spirit of the New Year extends to every segment of society and recognizes those who build and sustain the nation’s growth.
