Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has announced the completion of over 200 robotic orthopedic surgeries as part of its commitment to advancing medical education and technology. Dr. Abdullah Al-Fares, Undersecretary for Supporting Medical Services, revealed that local training for doctors in robotic surgery has begun, with plans to expand the technology to all hospitals nationwide.
The announcement was made at the Fourth Annual Orthopedic Surgery Conference, where Dr. Al-Fares also noted an increase in accredited training centers for orthopedic surgeons and highlighted the international recognition of Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital’s Orthopedic Department. A new agreement with the global SICOT organization will further facilitate training and research exchange for Kuwaiti doctors.
