Kuwait’s Ministry of Social Affairs has intensified monitoring of cooperative stores as part of preparations for the upcoming Ramadan season. The move aims to ensure compliance with regulations and prevent financial irregularities in budgeting and fund usage within the cooperative sector.
Officials warned that cooperative societies must not spend from upcoming budgets without approval from their general assemblies. Authorities said any attempt to allocate funds in advance, including for distributing purchase balances, would be considered a violation of regulations.
The ministry stressed that Ramadan-related spending and supply planning must follow proper procedures and legal approvals. Strict action will be taken against violators as part of efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in the cooperative sector.
