Kuwait’s General Directorate of Traffic has reported more than 27,300 traffic violations during a week-long nationwide inspection campaign aimed at strengthening road safety and enforcing traffic laws. The intensive checks were carried out across major roads between February 2 and February 8.
Authorities impounded 404 cars and 64 motorcycles for violating Article 207 of the traffic law. In addition to traffic offenders, security forces arrested 39 individuals for expired residency permits and detained 50 people wanted on various cases or for failing to report to work. Police also located 33 vehicles that had been ordered to be seized by court rulings.
During the same week, patrol teams handled 2,781 traffic complaints, including 223 accidents involving injuries and 1,116 minor crashes. One person without identification and another found under suspicious circumstances were referred to relevant departments for further investigation.
Officials said inspections will continue in the coming weeks and urged motorists and residents to strictly follow traffic and residency regulations.
