The UAE Ministry of Education has introduced new limits on how long children can spend on school buses, following complaints from parents about long travel times. Under the new rules, KG students should not travel more than 45 minutes, while students in other grades should have a maximum journey time of 60 minutes.
Officials said most school buses already meet the limits, with 98.5% operating within the set time this academic year. A special transport quality unit will monitor services and address complaints, aiming to improve student comfort, health and safety.
