Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro has declared himself the country’s “true leader” after arriving in the United States, while accusing the Supreme Court and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of electoral fraud.
Miami: Flavio Bolsonaro arrived in the United States on Wednesday and alleged that fraud involving the Supreme Court and President Lula da Silva had affected the Brazilian presidential election.
According to the report, Brazil’s Supreme Court had earlier ordered the confiscation of Flavio Bolsonaro’s passport in connection with a money laundering case. Following the development, Bolsonaro and his family decided to leave Brazil on October 27.
Bolsonaro reportedly crossed into Argentina via a bridge over the Iguazu River at 10:50 pm on Tuesday. He then travelled by private plane from Argentina to Guayaquil, Ecuador, before continuing to Miami with his family.
Upon arriving in Miami, Bolsonaro thanked Argentine President Javier Milei for helping him leave the country. He also expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for welcoming him and granting entry visas to him and his family.
His allegations against Brazil’s electoral process and claims to leadership come amid political tensions following the presidential election. The circumstances surrounding his departure and the legal proceedings involving his passport remain central to the developments described in the report.
