EXPATS ARE BEING CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL PRICE OF KD 60 IN ADDITION TO THE KD 750 REQUIRED FOR RESIDENCE RENEWAL

Kuwait City: A number of non-graduate expatriate workers aged 60 and up who are protected by Administrative Decision No. 34 of 2022, which allows them to renew or transfer their work licences in the private sector for one year, have been caught off guard. This is because they were compelled to pay 250 dinars to renew their residency permit and 500 dinars for private health insurance under the administrative decision.

Surprisingly, they are required to pay an additional 10 dinars (old residence fee) and another 50 dinars (standard insurance charges), resulting in this group of expatriates paying double residence and health insurance expenses. These additional fees are in addition to the fees approved by the aforementioned resolution and the Supreme Committee for the Insurance Regulatory Unit's decision No. (2/2022).
