Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti government has taken precautionary measures in the wake of escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine over the past few days. In particular, the government is coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure food security. Authorities say there will be no food shortages in the country despite the war. In such a case the price of the product may increase temporarily.

A committee comprising members from the Ministries of Finance, Commerce and Oil has been appointed to monitor the situation and take necessary action. This committee will submit its report. Minister of Commerce and Industry Fahad Al Sharian recently met with ministers and officials related to food security, led by the Kuwait Ports Authority, the Customs General Administration, the Kuwait Supply Company and the Union of Co-operative Societies.
