The UAE has launched a streamlined, fully digital process for newborn registration, allowing parents to complete all required procedures without paperwork or in-person visits. Through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), the service offers two convenient options designed to minimize stress and save time for families. The system is integrated with over 100 hospitals and clinics nationwide, automatically initiating registration steps once a birth is recorded.
The first option enables registration directly from the hospital after childbirth. Medical staff record the newborn’s name and photo, and the remaining steps are handled through the “Mabrouk Ma Yaqak” package in coordination with ICP’s smart system. Parents receive a complete package containing the baby’s passport, birth certificate, and Emirates ID without needing to visit any government offices.
Alternatively, parents can register their newborn through the UAEICP smart app or official website. By logging into their family profile, selecting “Add Newborn,” and uploading the birth certificate, they can submit the application free of charge. Through the same platform, they can also request the newborn’s first passport and Emirates ID, finalizing all documentation digitally from home.
The initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to enhancing government services through digital transformation and smart integration. By removing bureaucratic barriers, authorities aim to provide a seamless, parent-friendly experience that supports families during an important life event while strengthening the efficiency of civil and identity documentation processes.
