Kuwait Launches Emergency Phone Alert System

Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Government Communication Center has introduced a new mobile alert system designed to warn the public about potential and ongoing emergencies.

The system, currently launched on a trial basis, aims to enhance public safety by delivering real time alerts during critical situations such as natural disasters or security threats.

Officials said the service is currently available on Android and Huawei devices, with support for Apple devices expected in the next phase.

The alert system operates across three levels based on the severity of the situation.

  • The first level is for high risk emergencies and includes alerts with a distinct warning tone.
  • The second level delivers standard notification alerts similar to SMS tones.
  • The third level consists of silent notifications for less urgent updates.

Authorities explained that alerts will be issued depending on the seriousness of the situation to ensure appropriate public response.

Users can also manage alert settings through their phone, including the option to modify or disable notifications if required.

The initiative is part of Kuwait’s efforts to use advanced technology to improve emergency preparedness and ensure timely communication, helping protect citizens and residents across Kuwait.
