In response to regional developments, Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Osama Al Budaiwi, has issued a decision temporarily banning the export of all food items in an effort to protect consumers and enhance market stability.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the decision prohibits the export of any type of food products outside the country unless prior written approval is obtained from the Minister of Commerce and Industry.
The ministry stressed that violations of the decision will be subject to penalties outlined in Decree Law No. 10 of 1979. The ban will remain in effect for one month from the date of issuance.
Officials confirmed that market monitoring efforts will continue to ensure price stability and safeguard consumer rights. Legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the regulations.
In addition, the minister issued a separate decision to regulate and fix the selling prices of all food items as part of broader measures aimed at protecting consumers and maintaining stability in local markets.
