Authorities in Kuwait have shut down 57 commercial establishments after extensive inspections uncovered serious violations of fire safety regulations.
The inspection campaign was carried out by the General Fire Force as part of efforts to strengthen public safety and ensure that businesses comply with approved fire prevention standards.
Officials said the inspections focused on protecting lives and property by verifying that buildings and commercial facilities maintain proper safety and emergency response systems.
The campaign covered several major governorates including Capital Governorate, Farwaniya Governorate and Ahmadi Governorate.
Authorities confirmed that the 57 establishments were ordered to close after inspectors identified major breaches of safety regulations and fire prevention requirements.
In addition to the closures, official warning notices were issued to 562 other establishments that failed to fully comply with fire safety standards.
The affected businesses were instructed to correct safety deficiencies and improve their preventive systems within the timeframe specified by authorities.
Officials stressed that inspection campaigns will continue across Kuwait to ensure strict compliance with fire safety rules and reduce risks linked to accidents and emergencies.
The General Fire Force urged all business owners and facility operators to regularly maintain firefighting equipment, emergency exits and safety systems in accordance with national regulations.
Authorities warned that legal action, including closure orders, may be imposed against establishments that continue violating safety requirements.
