Kuwait City: The Kuwait Municipality has launched a nationwide clean-up campaign across all governorates to improve public hygiene and take strict action against violations related to waste disposal and road occupancy.
The campaign focuses on removing accumulated waste, construction debris and other unwanted materials from residential areas, commercial districts, public spaces and side streets. Field teams from the Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy Department are leading the inspection and enforcement operations.
According to Abdullah Al-Azmi, head of the Jaber Al Ahmad Municipality Centre, inspectors have also been instructed to prevent encroachments on government land and closely monitor the performance of cleaning contractors.
As part of the campaign, authorities are removing abandoned vehicles and boats found on public roads and open spaces. Owners of abandoned vehicles will be given 48 hours to remove them, while vehicles displayed for sale must be removed within 24 hours.
If owners fail to comply within the specified period, the municipality will seize the vehicles and initiate legal action.
Officials said the campaign aims to improve the appearance of cities, reduce environmental pollution and help control pests such as rodents and insects. The municipality urged citizens and residents to comply with regulations and cooperate with authorities to maintain public cleanliness.
