Oman to Ban Electronic Waste Exports from March 1

Oman will impose a ban on the export of electronic waste, effective March 1, according to the Environment Authority. The decision halts the issuance of export permits for e-waste until further notice.

The move is part of broader regulatory efforts to develop and enhance local waste processing capabilities, improve efficiency in the recycling sector, and support regional waste reuse facilities. Authorities aim to strengthen the local recycling industry and manage electronic waste more sustainably within the country.
