Oman Ranks Third Globally in Numbeo Quality of Life Index

Oman has ranked third globally in Numbeo’s Quality of Life Index for the first half of 2026, marking a significant improvement from its fourth-place ranking in 2025. The country also retained its position as the highest-ranked Arab and Asian country in the index.

Oman’s strong performance was attributed to its safety standards, improved purchasing power, relatively affordable property prices compared with incomes, low pollution levels and shorter travel times. Numbeo’s index considers several aspects of daily life, including safety, healthcare, cost of living, climate and transportation.

The country’s progress has also been linked to sustainable urban planning, modern development projects and an investment-friendly environment. Projects in Muscat, Sultan Haitham City, A’Thuraya City and Future Salalah City are among the developments supporting Oman’s continued urban growth.
