Abu Dhabi: One person has been killed after missile debris fell in the Baniyas residential area of Abu Dhabi, authorities confirmed.
The victim, a Pakistani national, died after debris struck the area during an air defence interception in the early hours of the morning. The fatality was confirmed following a search operation conducted in Baniyas.
This marks the eighth reported death in the United Arab Emirates since the start of the ongoing regional conflict. Official figures also indicate that around 145 people have been injured in related incidents so far.
Authorities have increased security measures in the Baniyas area following the incident, which occurred at dawn during Ramadan.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and stay in safe areas, as falling debris from intercepted missiles may pose risks. Officials also warned the public not to approach incident sites or record and share videos.
Abu Dhabi Police has advised residents to rely only on official information and to cooperate fully with emergency and disaster management teams.
