Dubai: Dubai Police have activated a comprehensive emergency response plan to handle the current low-pressure weather system, focusing on coordination, technology, and increased field readiness to ensure public safety.
Brigadier Turki Abdulrahman bin Fares, Director of the General Department of Operations, said preparations include close coordination with key partners and detailed response plans to manage rainwater accumulation and potential disruptions.
Operational readiness at the command and control centre has been raised to maximum levels. Authorities have also introduced advanced digital platforms to monitor conditions across the emirate.
One platform is designed to track flooded streets and intersections, with real-time data integrated into navigation apps like Waze to help residents choose safer routes. Another system allows the public to directly submit requests for assistance, enabling quicker response from emergency teams.
On the ground, patrols have been intensified across major intersections and areas prone to waterlogging, helping redirect traffic and maintain smooth movement during adverse weather.
