The United Arab Emirates has announced a temporary suspension of school bus operations across all nurseries, kindergartens, and schools as part of preparations for the return to in-person learning. The decision was confirmed by the Ministry of Education on Thursday.
According to officials, the move is aimed at allowing authorities to complete operational readiness in coordination with transport departments and municipalities. The goal is to ensure that school transport services meet the highest safety and operational standards before resuming.
The ministry stated that this step is part of broader efforts to guarantee a smooth and safe transition as students and staff return to classrooms. School bus services will be reviewed on a weekly basis in collaboration with relevant authorities.
Any updates regarding the restart of transport services will be communicated through official channels. The announcement follows the ministry’s earlier decision to resume in-person education for students and staff across the UAE starting April 20, 2026.
