Abu Dhabi: Twelve people were injured after debris fell in the Ajban area following the interception of missiles and drones by the UAE’s air defence systems, authorities confirmed.
According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the injured include six Nepali nationals and five Indian nationals who sustained minor to moderate injuries, along with one Nepali national who suffered serious injuries.
Emergency response teams quickly secured the area and provided medical assistance to those affected.
The incident occurred after successful interception of aerial threats, with falling debris impacting parts of the emirate.
Authorities also reported a separate incident at the Habshan gas facilities, where operations were temporarily suspended following a fire. No injuries were recorded at that site.
The Ministry of Defence stated that the loud sounds heard in some areas were linked to ongoing defence operations.
Officials have urged residents to rely only on verified information from official sources and avoid spreading rumours.
