Donald Trump Appoints Indian-American Kash Patel as FBI Director

US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Indian-American Kashyap “Kash” Patel as the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Patel’s appointment marks a significant milestone as he becomes the second Indian-American to be chosen for a prominent role in Trump’s cabinet. In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Patel as a “brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter,” noting his career achievements, including his role in exposing the Russia investigation, which Trump often criticized as a hoax.

Patel’s career has been marked by his unwavering support for Trump and his controversial stance on national security issues. He played key roles in Trump’s administration, including serving as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. Trump described Patel’s work in these positions as instrumental in defending justice and protecting the American people.

Despite his accomplishments, Patel has faced criticism for his outspoken views, particularly regarding the FBI and its handling of investigations into Trump’s administration. His appointment to the FBI’s top post is expected to bring dramatic changes, with a focus on combating crime, dismantling migrant criminal gangs, and addressing human and drug trafficking across the U.S. border. Patel’s leadership is set to redefine the bureau’s approach to law enforcement, emphasizing loyalty, accountability, and a return to its core principles of “Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity.”
