Over 1.1 million students across the UAE returned to their classrooms on Monday, marking the start of the second academic term after a month-long winter break. Campuses were filled with students sharing holiday stories and the activity of yellow school buses. The new nine-week term introduces a significant change, replacing centralized exams with school-level assessments designed to improve academic quality and student well-being.
Officials implemented traffic marshals around schools to manage congestion, while authorities urged caution for student transport with forecasts of potential rain and snow. The term will run for 69 working days, with end-of-term exams scheduled for early March before schools close again in mid-March for Ramadan and spring holidays.
