Oman Launches First Locally Assembled Strategic Cargo Drone

Oman has unveiled “Sahm,” the Middle East’s first locally assembled heavy-lift cargo drone, marking a significant advance in the nation’s unmanned aviation and logistics capabilities. The drone, showcased at the Military Technological College, can carry up to 250 kilograms over a range of 300 kilometers, ideal for delivering supplies to remote areas.

In a related development, Oman also announced the region’s first operational drone cargo service for the oil and gas sector. This service, led by Omani firms in partnership with industry players, aims to expedite the transport of critical equipment to isolated energy sites, enhancing operational efficiency.
