The UAE’s Etihad Rail has revealed its first passenger route, connecting Abu Dhabi to Dubai in just 50 minutes and extending to Fujairah in 100 minutes. The service will significantly cut travel times compared to road transport, offering a scenic journey through mountains, deserts, and coastal areas.
Trains will feature first, business, and economy classes with amenities such as Wi-Fi, charging points, infotainment systems, and prayer rooms. Initially, the route will include stations at Mohammed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, Jumeirah Golf Estate in Dubai, and Sakankum in Fujairah. The network aims to eventually serve 10 million passengers annually, following the successful launch of its freight operations in 2023.
