Nationwide Traffic Crackdown Records Nearly 28,000 Violations

Kuwait’s security and traffic authorities issued 27,969 traffic violations during an eight-day intensive campaign this month. The General Traffic Department and Emergency Police carried out widespread operations targeting reckless driving, residency violations, drug-related offenses, and individuals wanted by the judiciary.

Between January 11–17, emergency police arrested multiple suspects, impounded vehicles, and handled over 140 traffic accidents. In the following week, traffic officers issued 25,653 citations, seized 333 vehicles and 25 motorcycles, and arrested 58 individuals with expired residencies. The crackdown also led to the referral of 25 juveniles to the Public Prosecution.
