Abu Dhabi expands paid parking in Mohamed Bin Zayed City from May 6

Q Mobility has announced the expansion of paid parking in Abu Dhabi, with new commercial sectors in Mohamed Bin Zayed City set to be activated from May 6, 2026. The initiative is being implemented under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre.

The third phase of the rollout will cover sectors ME9 and ME12, introducing paid parking across 10,205 spaces, including dedicated spots for People of Determination. Officials said the move aims to improve traffic flow, reduce random parking, and enhance access to commercial areas.

A standard fee of Dh2 per hour will apply, with payments available through digital platforms such as the Darb and TAMM apps, SMS services, and on-site payment machines.

Authorities noted that Mohamed Bin Zayed City experiences high traffic due to heavy daily movement of workers and visitors, making structured parking solutions essential. The expansion follows earlier phases launched in December 2025 and April 2026, which have already improved parking management in surrounding sectors.

Officials said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance urban mobility, support economic activity, and improve quality of life through smarter, more sustainable transport solutions.
