Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has intensified traffic and security enforcement campaigns across the country, resulting in nearly 20,000 traffic violations being recorded within four days.
The operations, carried out by the Traffic and Operations Sector, led to the issuance of 19,788 traffic violations between the 4th and 7th of the month. Authorities also arrested 23 reckless drivers and impounded 251 vehicles and 40 motorcycles for various violations.
According to officials, 13 juveniles were referred to the Public Prosecution after being caught driving without valid licences, while several other enforcement actions targeted road safety and public security violations.
The campaigns also resulted in the referral of 116 wanted individuals with various legal restrictions, the arrest of 76 expatriates for residency-related violations, and the detention of six individuals who failed to carry official identification documents.
Traffic patrols handled 2,775 reports during the period, including 986 traffic collisions and 178 accidents involving injuries, highlighting the continued pressure on emergency response services.
Authorities further reported the seizure of 17 vehicles wanted by security and judicial authorities. In addition, one individual found in an abnormal condition was referred to the relevant anti-drug authorities for further investigation.
The Ministry of Interior said the campaigns will continue across all governorates as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety, enforce traffic laws and maintain public order.
