Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Public Authority for Disability Affairs has distributed 1,251 assistive devices to eligible persons with disabilities since the beginning of the year as part of its ongoing efforts to improve services and enhance beneficiaries’ quality of life.
Director General Dr Dalal Al-Othman said the programme is available to eligible individuals holding valid disability certificates and forms part of a comprehensive plan to meet their essential needs while promoting greater independence.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency, Dr Al-Othman said the distribution process follows clear and organised procedures to ensure assistive devices are delivered fairly, transparently and efficiently to those entitled to receive them.
The authority distributed 779 wheelchairs and 472 hearing aids during the first half of the year, reflecting its continued efforts to support people with disabilities and address their mobility and communication needs.
Dr Al-Othman reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to further expanding its services and strengthening support programmes to help beneficiaries achieve greater independence, improve their quality of life and encourage their active participation in society.
