Kuwait International Airport’s T1 terminal will resume operations in November, ahead of Kuwait hosting the Saudi Football Super Cup, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah has confirmed.
Speaking to reporters after attending the signing ceremony for the government partner sponsorship agreement for the tournament at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, Al-Yousef said the Ministry of Interior had introduced measures to facilitate the arrival of Saudi fans. These include expanding capacity at the Nuwaiseeb border crossing, where 20 dedicated counters will be available to process travellers.
The minister also said players and administrative staff participating in the matches would be exempt from biometric fingerprinting at the airport. Special identification cards will be issued to facilitate their entry into and departure from Kuwait. The measures are intended to streamline travel arrangements for the tournament and support the arrival of visiting fans and participating teams.
