Kuwait Announces Water and Power Disruptions in Residential Areas

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has announced temporary disruptions to water and electricity supplies in several residential areas as part of scheduled maintenance work.

Water network maintenance at the Doha Water Distribution Complex is scheduled to begin at 9pm on Thursday and last approximately 10 hours. The work may reduce the availability of fresh water in four areas: Al-Ardiya, Sabah Al-Nasser, Al-Firdous and Ishbiliya. The ministry said supplies are expected to return to normal after the maintenance is completed.

Meanwhile, electricity supply will be interrupted in several locations as the ministry carries out phased maintenance of secondary transformer stations. The planned power cuts are expected to begin at 8am and last approximately four hours.

The areas and blocks that may be affected by the electricity interruptions are:

  • Bneid Al-Qar: Block 3
  • Jaber Al-Ahmad: Block 7
  • Al-Adan: Blocks 4 and 7
  • Al-Wafra Residential: Blocks 2 and 9
  • Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City: A1
  • Al-Qairawan: Block 2
  • Ali Sabah Al-Salem: Block 4
  • Salmiya: Blocks 3 and 7
  • Abdullah Mubarak Al-Sabah: Block 8
  • Mishref: Block 4
  • Mubarak Al-Kabeer: Block 3
  • Sulaibiya Residential: Blocks 3 and 5

The ministry said water and electricity services would return to normal once the maintenance work is completed. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to take the necessary precautions and plan for the temporary interruptions.
