KUWAITCITY: Ministry of Health is carrying out high-level coordination and continuouscommunication with its counterparts in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)countries to strengthen and promote tourism within the Gulf region for citizensthis summer.
According to sources, Kuwait deciding to preventnon-Kuwaitis, except Gulf nationals, from entering the country, as well asopening land and airports and allowing transit within the GCC countries.
Currently work is underway to standardize records andfollow-up vaccination campaigns and procedures to promote travel within theGulf countries instead of high-risk countries or those with unknown informationabout their epidemiological situation. This is aimed at protecting GCC citizensand countries from the new COVID-19 variants. The sources indicated thepossible establishment of a joint virtual platform for Gulf tourism andmovement among the GCC countries.
The Ministry highlighted the decision taken by theCabinet to assign the Government Communication Center to publish every week alist of high-risk countries due to the COVID-19 outbreak, in coordination withthe Ministry of Health, to educate citizens and direct them to travel to safercountries.
