EXPATRIATES RELUCTANT TO TRAVEL, FEAR OF CLOSING AIRPORT AGAIN

Kuwait City: From August 1, non-Kuwaitis who had completed the vaccination were allowed to enter the country. However, managers of travel agencies say that despite the cabinet's approval, very few people make reservations.

Kuwait-approved Pfizer, Oxford and Modena are only available to those who have taken any two doses and Johnson & Johnson who have taken a single dose. Expatriates are reluctant to travel because of fears that the airport will close suddenly, as happened last August.

Many were then stranded in another country and later returned home. Travel agencies share the expectation that reservations will increase in the first two weeks of August.
