Kuwait City: Security sources said the decision to allow entry into Kuwait from August 1 involved only those with valid residency. At the same time, no decision has been taken to allow foreigners to renew their visitor visas.

According to a cabinet decision, admission will be limited to those who have received the two-dose vaccine approved in Kuwait. Sources said that the entry ban will continue for valid family and visitor visas of European nationals.

The number of expatriates stranded abroad with valid visas is over 400,000, most of whom will not be able to return to Kuwait in August, official sources said. Failure to receive the two-dose vaccine (Pfizer - Oxford - Johnson - Modena) approved by Kuwait will prevent return. Hundreds of thousands of expatriates are hoping that the vaccines available in India will be approved soon.
