CONVICT SENTENCED TO DEATH IN FARAH AKBAR MURDER CASE

Kuwait City: The criminal court has sentenced a man to death for killing Farah Akbar. The court, headed by Councilor Faisal al-Harbi, sentenced the accused to life in prison on suspicion of premeditated murder. The court observed that the defendant had lost the sacred rights of the victim and had no right to receive mercy. The charges against the accused have been proved to be true.


It was also found that the accused had installed a GPS tracking device in the woman's car with the intention of killing her. The incident took place on April 20. He crashed into a woman's car and abducted her and her daughters near Sabah Al Salem. After stabbing the woman several times in the chest in front of her children, the defendant fled, leaving the woman in the hospital. Earlier, Farah Akbar had filed two cases against him on charges of kidnapping and attempted murder. The assassination was followed by large protests in Kuwait.
