Saudi Arabia and Indonesia Seal $27 Billion Deals Across Energy, Petrochemicals, and Security

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia and Indonesia have signed a series of significant agreements and MoUs valued at $27 billion, strengthening bilateral cooperation across clean energy, petrochemicals, and aviation fuel services.

The deals were inked during the official visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Saudi Arabia, marking a major milestone in expanding economic and strategic relations between the two nations.

Officials highlighted that bilateral trade reached about $31.5 billion over the past five years, making the Kingdom Indonesia’s leading trade partner in the region. Both countries also welcomed progress on the GCC–Indonesia Free Trade Agreement, which is expected to be concluded soon.

The new agreements cover enhanced collaboration in crude oil supply, petrochemical production, renewable energy, energy storage, and sustainable energy supply chains. They also include joint efforts to apply emerging technologies like AI, develop carbon circular economy projects, and advance clean hydrogen initiatives.

On the security front, the two countries pledged to boost cooperation in defence, counterterrorism, cybersecurity, intelligence sharing, and capacity building through training and knowledge exchange. They reaffirmed their commitment to working together to combat crime and promote regional and international peace and stability.

Leaders from both nations exchanged views on key regional and global issues and reiterated their shared goal of continued coordination to strengthen international peace and security.
