KUWAIT WARNS OF WORSENING LABOR CRISIS

Kuwait City: Mohammed Abu al-Rabb, CEO of Procapita Management Consulting, said the country's job market would face a major crisis due to the covid crisis and the economic downturn. There have been huge structural gaps in the labor market. He added that the issue will have a direct impact on the second half of this year.

There are many job opportunities in tourism, travel, aviation, hospitality and hotel. This was due to the layoffs of many workers and the displacement of more than 600,000 people in Kuwait during the early stages of the covid epidemic. This has increased competition among companies.

According to Procapita's semi-annual report, the best employees in local companies are looking for jobs outside Kuwait. About 60 percent of those surveyed openly said they were looking for work outside Kuwait.
