APPARTMENT RENTAL ACCOUNTS FOR 38.20 PERCENT OF MONTHLY INCOME IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: According to the survey, people in Kuwait spend 38.20 per cent of their monthly income on apartment rent. The survey was conducted by Money.co.uk, a UK website. Apartment rental costs in Kuwait are higher than in Ireland, USA, Australia, Canada and the UK. The average rent for a three bedroom apartment in Kuwait is 475 KD. The cost of living for a family of four is about 770 KD. This brings the total monthly expenditure to 1,245 KD.


Hong Kong tops the list. Here 50.25 per cent of the monthly income has to be paid as rent. Singapore (47.08), Qatar (43.73) and the UAE (39.85) are in second, third and fourth place respectively. Kuwait is fifth. According to the website, Kuwait is ranked fifth globally and third in the Arab world. Saudi Arabia lags far behind, paying 19.07 per cent of the monthly rent. Qatar and the UAE are ahead of Kuwait respectively
