5,000 EXPATRIATES DEPORTED FROM KUWAIT IN SIX MONTHS

Kuwait City: In the first half of this year alone, the Interior Ministry said it had arrested 53 people whose residency had expired, seven people who had forged documents and 95 people suspected of taking residency for money. 5,000 expatriates deported from Kuwait in six months.


The ministry's Relations General Administration and Security Media said in a statement that it had issued 24,547 orders to inspect, list and impose restrictions on companies and commercial establishments. A total of 4,896 people were recommended to the Department of Residency Affairs General Deportation.

Of those, 84 were deported through the airport for health reasons. The administration said it had deported 699 people recommended by various sections of the home ministry. A total of 218 people, including the elderly, children and the sick, were released through the airport, officials said.
